Titilayo Tawakalitu Tajudeen

I am a third-year doctoral student at the Center for Geospatial Analytics, North Carolina State University. My PhD research focuses on understanding the dynamics of coastal forests in response to climate change by integrating remote sensing techniques, GIS, field observations, and machine learning. Prior to starting my Doctoral Program, I completed my MS degree in Forestry, and my research focused on leveraging field observations and mobile LiDAR sensors to map forest attributes and estimate biomass and carbon in a forested wetland ecosystem. 

In addition to my doctoral research work, I am passionate about applying these methods to interdisciplinary questions that connect with related fields, such as the intersection of terrestrial ecology, computer science, GeoAI, and forestry. I hope that my research contributes to enhancing our understanding of forest ecosystems and informs decisions on their management. I have a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Planning from Lagos State University, Nigeria. 

Aside from research, I enjoy meeting new people, learning about new things, exploring, kayaking, and occasionally watching movies.
